Mr. Thomas J. Beckenbauer is an accomplished leader in the field of aviation with over five decades of leadership experience.
He served his country for 27 years as a Naval Flight Officer flying in F-4 Phantoms and F-14 Tomcats and rounded out his career by serving as the Commanding Officer of the Fleet Aviation Specialized Operational Training Group, Atlantic.
Mr. Beckenbauer then served as a Naval Science Program Manager and Instructor in the NJROTC program at Anaheim High School, Anaheim, CA., for three years.
Next, he joined FedEx and worked as a Flight Operations Manager for 10 years. While working at FedEx, Mr. Beckenbauer earned a Master’s Degree in Commercial Aviation from Delta State University. A private pilot, instrument rated, and a Glider Certificated Flight Instructor, Mr. Beckenbauer now enjoys flying Light Sport Aircraft and instructing in gliders at Soar Indy, Alexandria, IN.
He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). In 2012 Mr. Beckenbauer founded the Catholic Aviation Association where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. From 2017-2022, through a division of CAA, Cupertino Aviation Clubs, he assisted in the development a Youth Flight Training Program centered around the American GEM (Ground Effect Machine).
Tom and his wife, Joy, reside in Carmel, IN and attend Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
